Biscoth Wars!

Jam Bajar!

Jam Bajar!

General Hungry Stomach sending signals to Deputy General Whacky Brain who in turn gives me the following information.

Time: Midnight the 15th of July 2008

Mission: Turn the house upside down and find the perfect midnight snack!

Over and out

This cadet had no real option but to raid the kitchen supplies to cook up that ideal midnight snack. Was unable to find any real snack but the General was not in a position to take NO for an answer and so opened up tins and cans all positioned in the kitchen counter.

Signals sent to the Deputy General: Target Jam Biscoth and Choco Chip Cookie spotted. Over and Out.

Deputy General replies: Bring them both in! I repeat Bring them both in! Over and Out.

The cadet replies: Roger that! and brings both the packets to the bedroom.

Good Day in the middle of the night!

Good Day in the middle of the night!

So with the Jam biscoth and the Good Day Choco Chip Cookies in front of me i open both the packs and begin eating them. Both taste good. But the Jam Biscoth oh my gawd[God] was outright magnificent. The Choco Chip Cookies of the Bradman brand taste better than the ones from Good Day.The biscoths are ideally priced at 13 and 12 rupees per pack each. The taste mouth watering and the snack stomach filling{now dont talk about the calories.}With all the hype over six pack abs..I guess these cream biscuits dont sell as much these days.Jam Biscoth is my favourite.I can eat a whole pack all by meself any time of the day.It simply rocks! This post isnt meant to make the most sense but was written as a part of the sensory delights my taste buds experienced a few hours back.I stand by Britannia’s tagline..for Christ’s sake people just “EAT HEALTHY AND THINK BETTER!”

General Hungry No-more Stomach sends signal to Deputy General Tired Brain who in turn gives me the following information.

Time: 03:20 AM on the 15th of July,2008

Mission Status:Accomplished.General happy with the results.Rock On Cadet!

Over and Out.

Anbe Sivam!

Om Shanthi Om!

P.S: Jam Biscoth blends ferfectly[perfectly] well with Cold Coffee.Choco Chip cookies unless really choco-latey should be eaten alone.:D

Jaane tu yeh side show!

The side acts!

The side acts!

Jaane tu ya Jaane na..my second movie review in succession. It might start looking like the blog of Sudish Kamath if I write the reviews of all the movies i have seen off late.Have seen like 4 movies in 5 odd days.So sticking to just this one.The hype and the hoopla for this movie was created basically around Rahman’s scintillating score and Aamir’s production values. The movie is the release vehicle for Imran Khan and the movie was as expected marketed around the lead pair.

But then on watching the movie I realised the lead pair’s tale is too cliched. But i still liked the movie for a majority of reasons. The side artists were off the top amasssing[amazing].If not for them this would have been another mundane script from Abbas Tyrewala.Rathna Pathak Shaw as Imrans mom will surely be remembered for this role so will her on screen hubby Mr.Naseeruddin Shah!Intelligently mocking television serials Tyrewala showcases Shah from a picture.Prateik Babbar was outright magnificent..his role etched to perfection..that scene between Babbar and Genelia about her not remembering his friends..what a piece of writing..could just watch it over and over again. The Khan brothers in a gem of a role not quiet making sense till the last moments were a treat to watch. They should consider doing more cowboy roles.Paresh Rawal, just his appearence on screen and you know you are in for a laughter marathon..two scenes and his class is simply classy!:P Manjari was good but i felt Ayaz Khan was an unnecessary inclusion in the movie. The friends of Rats and Meow played with much elan by Aliksha Varde, Nirav Mehta, Karan Makhjia and Sugandha Garg take the pie.

Imran Khan makes a neat debut sans overacting.Genelia continues to do dumb bubbly gal roles after Santosh Subbu.Tyrewala’s lyrics in Kabhi Kabhi Aditi and dialogues are awe inspiring.Rahman’s lends a touch of class to the movie as he always does.Songs are chartbusters, an album you can treasure.Reality is the core of the movie but then i feel the movie left a few stones unturned by showcasing a few issues as truly available to people of the higher class and not being acceptable to middle class mentality. It was fun to watch and a cute film all over!Anbe Sivam!

Om Shanthi Om!

P.S:If Imran Khan was made to act all alone much like Ranbir Kapoor and Harman Hrithik Baweja in their debut movies, I dont think he would have gotten a favourable review.Waiting for your solo hero role Imran!Bring it on!:D

Dasavatharam or Da”savvu”thalam?

Filed under: Movie Review — sheksshake @ 2:19 am
Hari Om!

Hari Om!

Enough has been written about Dasavatharam. Many say its an experience which one should just experience. Many call it the movie fit to win the oscars. Many have thrown bricks and bats at it, me certainly included..so what is it about Dasavatharam that has made sucha indelible mark in Tamil cinema off late.Praise it or bane it one couldn have avoided it!

Dasavatharam

-> The first epic 15 minutes..whatever said and done this is probably the beshtu part of the movie. So much for Nambi being a part of my article

-> The unmistakable connection to the 10 avatars on close introspection of the movie..but then hey who would have such far fledged thinking

-> Dialogue delivery..kamal takes the cake in this department..the only reason no other actor can outdo kamal is probably his way to get the dialect right. He lost that too on close reference at some places.

-> The very thought of doing 10 roles hasnt struck anyone till date and Kamal being the man he is..remember man and not the actor..pulls them off with elan.

-> The message he got in with the movie..bringing in every religion and caste into the picture..and giving them each a dialogue or so atleast to show their plight in society. A few dialogues that could be termed classic. And also the everything happens for the good and the intentions of humans nowadays to go back to war.

Da”savvu”thalam

-> Many might disagree..but Kamal’s make-up fetish is the movie’s biggest loss according to me.They appeared like emotionless dummies with chappathi faces walking in and out of scenes.

-> Female characterisation..so much for the industry being male dominated.Asin and Mallika leave a small impression atleast and Jayaprada made zilch impression..i would go so long to say that Krishnaveni paati left a greater impact only probably cause it was played by Kamal himself.

-> Screenplay wasnt terrific and the dialogues almost pretty ordinary except for a few here and there.Remember Kamal has himself never promised a great story with this movie[check the link below]..he just told us that there was a movie in which he did 10 roles..and thats true it is there…but then screenplay innum konjam tighten panni padatha konjam cut panirklam.

http://www.behindwoods.com/tamil-movie-news-1/jul-08-01/kamal-04-07-08.html

->A few logical issues with the movie..all of a sudden seemed like am watching Kamal trying to do a Rajnikanth somewhere in the middle..but then Rajni is Rajni noone can be the superstar..Kamal should stick to his kinda movies..leaving Rajnikanth to his own..but then dont watch the movie with complete logic people say but then DUH ITS A KAMAL MOVIE.

-> Connectivity is a major issue in the movie..people come out and ask are all these characters required..hmm probably aes(yes) and probably nope..depends on how u look at it.The idea of the butterfly effect just doesnt sell in this movie.

-> Kamal in this movie..self indulgent partly yes.Music sucked. If it wasnt Kamal doing 10 roles i wont even bother going and watching this movie a second time over.If this is entertainment then either Kamal has bad taste or i do.If this movie was supposed to make one sit up and think..sorry it didn make me do so.And last but not the least, the movie was 90% graphics and they were not upto the mark..sorry to say but Mr. Brian Jennings you were just about average in this flick.

I love Kamal a lot.Hes the best acting talent in the country. But he should realize that a movie where he spends 80 crores of someone else’s money isnt a place to throw his aesthetics.Just hope he works well on Marmayogi makes enough money and does his dream Marudhanayakam. The movie at beshtu is still an average flick for me. Not the beshtu of Kamal, not the beshtu movie to be sent to the Oscars.Anbe Sivam!

Om Shanthi Om!

P.S.:I am great fan of Rajnikanth too!:D

I guess i am probably a suitable candidate for a BPO job with the amount of sleep i have been losing in the nights off late.I just cant get some shut eye before 4 30 or 5 in the morning.Met up wit my cousin a few days ago, he was back from his on site infy posting at Las Vegas, Nevada.{Cousin:Dude u should go to Las Vegas , Nevada for your hols!  Me: Neva da!} He was talking to me about the U.S recession and the first thing that came to my mind;”Oh holy crap!So much for that BPO job.” So with ideally nothing to do but watch television or surf online the whole night, i basically slipped into my latest obsession “COUNTER STRIKE”.Much like my blogging i am a novice at this game as well..but then all guys do easily get the hang of video games, dont we? The guys who created this game were sure geniuses and to play with helluva lotta guys..almost 15 of us do against each other its simply amassing[amazing].

Now moving on to other things i have wanted to do in the nights but neva got the chance..{now can i see a few perverted minds thinking of something:P}..ya so it was the usual night online, finished our dose of counter strike action and as a habit all the guys go offline when the clock strikes 12 30 and i am left online with whoeva stays awake and usually i have to mention her name, its my friend Dhanya who stays ol till the wee hours of the morning. Both of us hate a lotta drama happening in our lives and kinda like the night has its effects on us and we pour out our views against drama throughout our conversation in the night. Now without much diversion {can hear a lotta voices already going “dude get back to wat u wanna do,who cares who u flirt wit in the nite”:P}..i have always wondered why we dont have a restaurant in chennai which delivers in the night..and i find this guy on orkut..who owns a restaurant called Twilight Takeout which is open frm 7 pm to 7 am and they deliver throughout the night..man jus what i was lookin for..now the flipside..open my cupboard drawers..open the numerous zips in the numerous bags in my room and i find absolutely zero cash. That was really irritating. I am gonna check out twilight at around midnight one day and i will post a review on my blog as soon as i do so.

I have started watching English movies. Now that might not be a shocker for many of you reading this but it is actually cause i am the kinda “Udal Manniku Uyir Tamiliku” guy though i neva eva learnt tamil at school.I love tamil movies..rather am a true blue desi at heart. So the my pick of what i have seen so far Kung Fu Panda.I am yet to watch Wall E and a lotta other movies..made up a list using imdb and a few other sites. Will let ya know more about the movies i watch the music i listen to in my following scraps…damn orkut addiction have to get over that as well..i meant blog posts.. But till then its gonna be me tryin to get over my new found obsession and getting down to write stories.I have asked to,begged to,now gonna force meself to get over these addictions and start doing something which i always wanted whether i suck at it or not.I am gonna continue to try and kill as few people as possible with my blogs and stories!Anbe Sivam!

Postman thabbal podungo!

Filed under: Personal — Tags: — sheksshake @ 10:46 pm

Bringing down the house in my search for an ideal title for my first post..i could just make a mockery of the word post by incorporating the now infamous Saroja Saaman Nikalo tune into it. Have lived my whole life in a metro,i.e., Chennai and after being vetti these holidays for more than three months, I have decided rather been influenced by some Goodfellas namely BigB and Aamir Khan to sit up and start writing blogs about whatever i feel like.I aint as famous as the forementioned legends but I do wanna voice my say on issues going on around me and this is probably the greatest platform one could have to do so.

Being my first post i would like it to be more of an introduction than anything else.Well am Abhishek Swaminathan, finished my 12th grade a few months back and counting down the days i have before i start my engineering degree…would have loved it be a degree in medicine but then a lotta problems stood in my way..but then we all do know , “Archanaiya pakatha Saamiyum Kadayathu Prechanaiya pakatha manishanum kadayathu.” There is no use crying over spilt coke..so continuing on the path that was destined for me.There have been countless occasions where i have been caught as if in a trap not knowin wat to do but then as i always say “Singatha Konja midiyathu Abhishek a minja midiyathu”..not to publicize my ego..but then a probable confidence booster{or is it a popularity booster}to find my way around things.

Networking i feel is the best way to move forward in life. Life could be all dull and grey at one point but then one casual meeting with a known or an unknown and all of a sudden it could be brightest ever.My passion probably is to live life to the max as people say, meet a lotta new people and continue growing my friends list and probable fans list.I love speed helluva lot more than gals.My writing style is more of inglifis than english. My friends would vouch for it..i have never had a conversation without an aes{yes}, devinately{definitely} and a lot more words.I love things to be casual and this might not show in my first post but then hey people wont tend to take me seriously if i am casual right from the outset;right?

This 450 word post is to just signal the arrival of a novice to the world of blogging who would like to be like Guru of the blog world someday..sharing my insights on what i touch see and hear in this world where tomorrow never dies! Anbe Sivam!

Om Shanthi Om!

P.S. Did i eva mention my love for the movies!;).
