The side acts!

The side acts!

Jaane tu ya Jaane na..my second movie review in succession. It might start looking like the blog of Sudish Kamath if I write the reviews of all the movies i have seen off late.Have seen like 4 movies in 5 odd days.So sticking to just this one.The hype and the hoopla for this movie was created basically around Rahman’s scintillating score and Aamir’s production values. The movie is the release vehicle for Imran Khan and the movie was as expected marketed around the lead pair.

But then on watching the movie I realised the lead pair’s tale is too cliched. But i still liked the movie for a majority of reasons. The side artists were off the top amasssing[amazing].If not for them this would have been another mundane script from Abbas Tyrewala.Rathna Pathak Shaw as Imrans mom will surely be remembered for this role so will her on screen hubby Mr.Naseeruddin Shah!Intelligently mocking television serials Tyrewala showcases Shah from a picture.Prateik Babbar was outright magnificent..his role etched to perfection..that scene between Babbar and Genelia about her not remembering his friends..what a piece of writing..could just watch it over and over again. The Khan brothers in a gem of a role not quiet making sense till the last moments were a treat to watch. They should consider doing more cowboy roles.Paresh Rawal, just his appearence on screen and you know you are in for a laughter marathon..two scenes and his class is simply classy!:P Manjari was good but i felt Ayaz Khan was an unnecessary inclusion in the movie. The friends of Rats and Meow played with much elan by Aliksha Varde, Nirav Mehta, Karan Makhjia and Sugandha Garg take the pie.

Imran Khan makes a neat debut sans overacting.Genelia continues to do dumb bubbly gal roles after Santosh Subbu.Tyrewala’s lyrics in Kabhi Kabhi Aditi and dialogues are awe inspiring.Rahman’s lends a touch of class to the movie as he always does.Songs are chartbusters, an album you can treasure.Reality is the core of the movie but then i feel the movie left a few stones unturned by showcasing a few issues as truly available to people of the higher class and not being acceptable to middle class mentality. It was fun to watch and a cute film all over!Anbe Sivam!

Om Shanthi Om!

P.S:If Imran Khan was made to act all alone much like Ranbir Kapoor and Harman Hrithik Baweja in their debut movies, I dont think he would have gotten a favourable review.Waiting for your solo hero role Imran!Bring it on!:D
